Satellite Grants
There are a number of grants available to encourage the take up of Broadband in areas where fixed line Broadband services are not available. Satellite technology has moved quickly and now the same levels of service can be offered across this medium as for copper or fibre based services.
England:
Rabbit For Small to Medium sized enterprises in regions of England, many of the local Regional Development Agencies have teamed up to form the Remote Area BroadBand Inclusion Trial (RABBIT) initiative. Grants are expected to be a minimum of £700 first year funding for SMEs who are awarded the grant.

Scotland:
Scottish Enterprise are offering a new grant of up to £1000 for eligible businesses for adopting alternatives to ADSL like satellite broadband supplied by Fast.co.uk

Wales:
The Welsh Development Agency on behalf of the Welsh Assembly Government have launched a £100m scheme to get all of Wales connected to the Internet via Broadband communications. Called Broadband Wales, the target is to connect 67000 businesses in Wales via broadband by 2007.
Where ADSL services are not available from BT or NTL the Broadband Wales initiative will provide SMEs with up to £1500 towards the install and 1st year running costs of equivalent satellite systems.
This is a major investment in the future of Welsh business and represents one of the leading initiatives of its type in Europe.
